ICHV seeks to create safe spaces for youth to learn about the dangers of gun violence and have the opportunity to participate in open dialogues and activities about preventing gun violence. ICHV offers FREE engaging anti-violence workshops and presentations to schools and community organizations anywhere in Illinois.

Workshops are interactive and are best suited for groups of 30 students or less per session. We offer single class sessions or recurring sessions for a much more in-depth exploration of the topic. Presentations are suitable for larger groups in assembly settings. The length and topics of workshops and presentations vary according to the particular needs and desires of the school.

To schedule a Workshop or Presentation, please complete and submit a Program Request Form.

Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence

The Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence (ICHV) is the oldest and largest statewide organization in the U.S. working to prevent the devastation caused by firearms. Founded in 1975 by four suburban Chicago women concerned about the tragic consequences of handgun proliferation and availability, ICHV works on a variety of fronts to educate, raise public awareness, and build coalitions to enact change in laws and behavior. For 40 years, ICHV has been a leader among state gun violence prevention groups.
